Not Available to Americans: New Gold Investment Vehicle Introduced By Royal Canadian Mint

The Royal Canadian Mint has announced that it is making an initial public offering of exchange-traded receipts (ETRs) under the mint's new Canadian Gold Reserves program. Unlike other gold investment products currently available which only enable the purchaser to own a unit or share in an entity that owns the gold, the ETRs will enable the purchaser to actually own the physical gold bullion which will be held in the custody of the mint at its facilities in Ottawa, Ontario. Unfortunately, the ETRs have not, and will not, be registered under the U.S. Securities Act of 1933 and, as such, may not be offered or sold in the U.S. Words: 745

How to Play the Lowest Natural Gas/Crude Oil Ratio on Record

One of the things we look for in the markets is anomalies or disconnects from historical tendencies that signal some element of a traditional relationship between two things is changing or has changed. Often, the relationship is eventually returned to “normal”, meaning money can be made if an investor is on the right side of the trade. Other times, the relationship has been fundamentally altered in some way, so understanding the reasons behind the shift can become a source of opportunity, since it can either provide understanding about relevant long-term trends or signal a shift in an existing one. [Such being the case let's take a look at] the ratio between natural gas and crude oil [and determine how best to play this investment opportunity.] Words: 1069

Don’t Delay a Day Longer! NOW is the BEST Time To Purchase Gold (+2K Views)

What's the best time to buy gold on a seasonality basis? November! Over the past 40 years (basically since gold became legal for private ownership in the U.S.) November and December accounted for almost HALF of the year's gains for gold...If this year is anything at all like the previous 40, we'll see about 44% of the year's gains in November and December. That's huge. [That being said: Don't delay a day. NOW is the BEST time to purchase some gold.] Words: 700

Gold: Are You "The 99%" or "The 1%"? (+2K Views)

34% of Americans say gold is the best long-term investment, but how many of that 34% actually own it in the form of coins and bullion? No one has that figure, but my guess would be less than 1% of the total population, and when global investment demand doubles or triples (or more) from current levels -- a distinct possibility -- and you paint a whole new picture for gold. You begin to understand why gold is not in a bubble at all but, in fact, is in a long-term secular bull market that is still amassing considerable potential energy. Words: 1092

These 8 Economic Reforms Would Propel the Dow to 20,000!

Our economy – and economic disparity – can never be fixed until we deal with the debt - and we will never deal with the debt without dramatic reforms to stop underlying dysfunction in government & endemic wasteful spending. Furthermore, we cannot grow our way out of the debt. No credible forecast suggests that future rates of growth for the U.S. economy will be sufficient to close these deficits without significant changes to our fiscal policies. Here are 8 reforms that need to be addressed if we are to have any hope of ever turning things around. I believe they would propel the Dow Jones to 20,000 and beyond. Words: 689

Is the "Halloween Indicator" a Good Way to Time the Market?

Seasonality tells us that statistically the months from the end of October through the end of April are in fact the best months of the year for investing while the six months from May through October (the “sell in May and go away” strategy), are the worst but is there any validity to what’s sometimes known as “the Halloween indicator?” [Let's take a look.] Words: 460

Is it Time to Load Up on Gold Stocks?

By almost any measure, gold stocks are undervalued but should we load up? Gold mining companies are earning record margins. Stock prices, however, have not responded in similar fashion but when the broader investing community begins to take notice, investors will snap up these highly profitable stocks and push prices higher. The “catch up” in gold stocks could be tremendous but the question, of course, is timing. We don’t know when gold stocks will begin to catch up and the data don’t suggest they must rise right now or that they’ve hit bottom so should we load up just now? Words: 590

Goldrunner: The Gold Tsunami Wave Cycle

The Gold (and Silver) bull continues to closely follow the giant wave formation of a tsunami. The recent more parabolic rise in Gold up to above $1,900 is analogous to the little ridge of water we first saw way out in the distance, and now, much like when the waters recede from the shore early in the tsunami wave formation, Gold is undergoing a correction. Ian Campbell's Commentary: Canada's Many Economic Advantages Make it #1 – Here's Why

Canada's size, political structure, and culture will enable it to – properly governed – be more resilient to world economic problems than any other developed country. [For one thing] we don't have the extent of political polarization that... [is currently the case] in Washington...and now exacerbated to new levels in these difficult economic times – and that will, in my view, cause the U.S. to continue down an increasingly rocky economic road.
